bitumen 90-10

General description of oxidized bitumen 90/10

The ATDM bitumen refineries are processor of vacuum bottom , the resinous residues of which are a fairly good raw material for obtaining bitumen 90/10. However, the analysis of the use of bitumen materials  in the construction of these oils shows the need to adjust the properties of bitumen both in production and at the place of application.

Bitumen binder

This is due to many factors, one of which is the poor low-temperature properties of bitumen used as a binder in construction. On the other hand, insufficient resources of raw materials for road production due to the deepening of oil refining processes pose the task of increasing the amount of production of construction bitumen due to modifying additives.

Modified bitumen 90/10

For this purpose, it is possible to use less valuable by-products or waste products of oil refining and petrochemical industries as additives, which is economically feasible. The main purpose of modification is to obtain bitumen 90/10 or materials based on them, which allow to expand the range of plasticity of bitumen, strengthen, increase resistance to aging, provide colloidal and mechanical strength, expand the operating temperature range, ensure environmental safety of obtaining and using modified bitumen.

It should be noted that the good compatibility of bitumen with various organic substances and polymers, which are able to give bitumen specific improved properties, speaks in favor of modification. Bitumen 90/10 is a stable dispersed system.

Properties in construction

It is possible to regulate the properties of bitumen by changing its dispersed structure with additives. As a result of selecting the best bitumen – additive ratio, it is possible to achieve, if necessary, improvement of one or more properties of the finished bitumen material. Modern composite building materials are complex systems, the properties and performance characteristics of which depend both on the properties of the raw materials used separately (fillers, fillers, binders, etc.), and on the nature of their combination, i.e. the characteristics of the contact zone between the components.

Uses of oxidized asphalt 90/10

Oxidised asphalt 90/10 uses in the chemical, fuel, paints, lacquers, varnishes, paper-pulp-board, textile processing, road construction, pavement ,crack seal and repairmen, civil works, roofing, construction industries; sealing and insulating buildings, adhesive, construction materials additive, dust-binding, coating, insulating and impregnating agent, make rubber and plastic products. The blown asphalt 90/10 products are for paving, roofing; also used in asphalt based paints for corrosion protection of metals, in lining public works structures, adhesives in electrical laminates, base for synthetic turf; typical uses for oxidized asphalt 90/10 include roofing, pipe coating, Portland cement pavement, hydraulic applications, paint manufacturing.

Packing of blown asphalt 90/10

The ATDM is manufacturer of bitumen 90/10 in various packing including kraft bag, meltable plastic bag, drum and bulk blown asphalt 90/10 from penetration grade bitumen, which is blown by hot air in a controlled process until the desired specification is reached. The ATDM oxidised bitumen 90/10 can be supplied in any grade and are designated by two numbers to indicate the softening point and penetration ranges. The oxidized asphalt grade 90/10 means softening point is 90°c and penetration is 10 desimillimiter is produced in compliance and conformity to ASTM standard and meets the following specification.

Guaranty/warranty of bitumen 90/10

ATDM guaranty the quality of blown bitumen 90/10 with arrangement of international inspector to check quality and quantity of the bitumen on each shipment during the loading to vessel and controlling the production by QC team via batch test report before shipping. ATDM guaranty the quality to meet with ASTM/EN 13304:2009.
