N at Classification of Carbon black , As the reinforcing character of carbon blacks depends on both the structure and size of the clusters and has a direct impact on the performance of the final product, it is recognized by ASTM.

 N at Classification of carbon black is according to 4 types of character codes; Nxyz

N at classification of Carbon black ,has been made of ;

N; The meaning of “normal curing”, that is, its effect on chemical events that occur during vulcanization

means absent,

xyz; is related to the reinforcing character of carbon black.

X base; gives information about the average particle size of the particles and is inversely proportional to the surface area,

yz; is related to the structures of the clusters and the larger it is, the more and complex the clusters are.

shows that it is in a branched structure, that is, carbon blacks with a large yz number character gets better.

N at classification of Carbon black (carbon black / activated carbon) and General Properties

It is divided into two types according to the product structure and particle size,

  1. a) Hard species (Hard Black)
  2. b) Soft Types (Soft Black)

HAF: Its an abrasion resistant furnace black type. The grain structure is normal and small. With very good resistance to bending and deformation

It increases the tension and rupture resistance of the rubber. It helps not to accumulate heat in the tire.

ISAF: is very resistant to abrasion. Normal structure and very small particles. Increases the tensile and rupture resistance of rubber.

FEF: Its abrasion resistant and provides fast extrusion, and its normal in structure and has medium-sized grains.

GPF: It is a type used for general purposes. It has normal grain size, It is easy to process.

Carbon black acts as a reinforcing agent, This feature was discovered in England in the 1900s.

It has been noted that carbon black extends the life of the tire. It is black that gives the tire real resistance.

95% of the carbon black produced is used in the rubber industry. Except for the industrial rubber, plastic, dyestuff, printing ink.

Its also used as a Dothan substance. Carbon black interacting with polymer molecules affects the physical and mechanical properties of the mixture

Analysts of Carbon black

The primary carbon black analysis  that influence the properties of carbon black compounds with elastomers are the particle size, aggregate size, the morphology of the carbon black aggregates and it’s microstructure.

In addition, the nature of the carbon black surface and its characteristics with respect to its structural organization, porous structure, surface area and it’s chemical composition are of vital importance.

A more precise knowledge of the chemistry of the carbon black surface is also essential for the proper development and improvement of carbon carbon for specific applications. the surface acidity and the dispersion properties of the various color blacks have a great influence on their performance in xerographic toners.

Also N at classification of Carbon black having organic group’s are known in which the organic group contains at least one substituted cc single or double bond via which tow carbon atoms of the cc single or double bond are bonded to the it and at least one carbon atom of the cc single or double bond is at least contains an activating substituent .

Carbon blacks are electrically conductive and impart good conductivity to thermoplastic polymers. Consequently they are used in the manufacture of conducting compounds.

The electrical and dielectric behavior of a polymer carbon black compound depends upon the concentration, the nature and the characteristics of the carbon black, the nature and the molecular weight of the polymer and the mixing and finishing conditions.

These carbon black can be used as a filler, UV stabilizer, conductivity carbon black and pigment.
