This product with temperature range from -30 C° to 1100 C° is used for lubrication of gearbox, chain and towing wire, vehicle ball-joint, hot forge molding, air filter, open gear, thread connect, bearing, industrial valve, metal melting furnace, rotating kiln, industrial electromotor couplings etc.
The product range complies with ATDM customers’ demands with regard to friction, wear and lubrication as well as economic and ecologic optimization of the processes themselves.
ATDM Co as pioneer in production of special industrial lubricants in Middle East has stabilized its status as a reliable and reputable supplier in heavy industries such as steel and cement plants considering the excellent quality and high capacity of its products.
What is grease?
Grease is a structural element, especially when used as a long-life lubricant for lifetime lubrication. The balanced and complete ATDM product range of lubricating grease offers customers the ideal technical and economical solutions for the greatest possible number of applications. Lubricating it is a perfect lubricant made up of base oil and a specially chosen thickener in which additives are added to increase certain properties.
Key components of the grease
Grease consists of base oil and thickener such as soap or other filler with a wide range of extreme pressure EP additives, viscosity index improvers, anti-corrosion additives, anti-oxidation additives, and anti-foam additives based on the requirements.
Regarding the type and quantity of the components and also production process of lubricating grease, a specific structure with various physical specifications is formed for different operational conditions such as low temperature to high temperature, high load, severe and sudden shock, continuous vibration, high speed, presence of water or other corrosive and adverse material.
Choosing the right grease
Grease selection is done by considering the following points:
- Temperature range of lubrication point.
- Maximum relative speeds of the surfaces.
- Maximum pressure exerted.
- Frequency of vibration and shock.
- Presence of water.
- Material of the lubricated surface.
- Type, size and mechanical design of the part.
- Variations of ambient conditions.
Temperature, load pressure and relative speeds of the surfaces are normally the most important parameters to select proper it.
What are Grease Types?
lubricant is classified into two main soap and non-soap groups, based on the type of thickener:
1- Soap based one:
This product is divided to three groups as below:
- Simple soap one:
This product is made of base oil and a metal soap which is a product of a fatty acid and a metal hydroxide such as aluminum, sodium, calcium, lithium or barium reaction and neutralization.
- Mixed soap one:
This lubricant is made of base oil and a mixture of two different metal soaps such as lithium and calcium soaps.
- Complex soap one:
This grease was developed to improve the heat resistance of soap based greases. It is similar to regular soap grease except that its thickener is consisted of two dissimilar acids one fatty and one organic. This product has higher dropping point and better resistance under high loads, temperatures and speeds. The most popular complex soap greases are aluminum, lithium, calcium, and barium complex greases.
2- Non-Soap based one:
This product is divided to two groups as below:
- Mineral based one:
This product is made of base oil and a mineral thickener such as mineral clay like bentonite, modified mineral silicate or graphite.
- Polymer based one:
Examples of this grease are poly urea grease and thermoplastic powders grease.
