What is rubber processing oil?

Rubber process oil is an oil composition which has a kinematic viscosity at 100 °C of from 32 to 50 cSt and which contains less than 3%. polynuclear aromatic compounds is employed as a process oil for rubber compounds, especially aromatic rubbers. The process oil is compatible with aromatic rubbers but contains less toxic polynuclear aromatic compounds than conventional aromatic RPO. Rubber products of acceptable quality are produced by the use of the said oil composition.

Rubber process oil RPO category

They are commercially used to produce many products from rubber bands to a toy to the giant tyres for various vehicles as well . RPO mix to help in improving the dispersion of fillers and flow characteristics of the compound during further processing. There are tree type of rubber process oil and we are able to supply both grades aromatic and paraffinic RPO.

AROMATIC RPO :

Aromatic RPO or extender oil well-known according to its viscosity which meet ASTM D-445 and Kinematic viscosity of transparent and opaque liquids HS code 27079900 it has different grades famous as high(heavy) , medium , low(light) viscosity, TDAE , MES and DAE . The primary characteristics of aromatic hydrocarbons are the presence of the double bonded mix ring carbon structure. Aromatic furfural extract rubber process oil(RPO) procured from selected refineries and suitably blended to meet stringent specifications, are used for compounding batches to manufacture tyres, lactic , automotive tyres and tubes, bi-cycle tyres, tyre re-treading materials, belting, hoses, battery casings and containers, extruded products, technical molded goods and rubber articles with reclaim rubber due to high solvency. Calendared and molded sheets, Tread rubber TDAE oil .also process oil (furfural extract) has a colour stability, solubility and good thermal stability makes RPO ideal for molded articles, slippers, LPG tubes, floor tiles, etc.

PARAFFINIC RPO :

Paraffinic process oil well-known according to its viscosity which meet ASTM D-445 with HS code 27079900. This class of hydrocarbons constitutes branched chain or straight linked hydrocarbon molecules of various viscosities. As the chain length increases, the viscosity increases and the rubber process oil (furfural extract RPO) becomes more viscous. They find extensive usage in Butyl rubbers. Paraffinic process oils with high viscosity and high flash point is better shelf life of the end product. Because paraffinic Furfural extract has higher viscosity and paraffinic content are preferred for achieving high retention of properties after ageing and higher loading of oil in applications like heat resistant / steam hoses and conveyor belts.

NAPHTHENIC RPO:

Naphthenic are a class of hydrocarbons also referred to as cycloparaffins. Though their structure is similar to the aromatic ring, these are single bonded thus having a stable structure. Several such hydrocarbon rings may be linked indicating a variety of available grades. Naphthenic rubber process oil has unique colour stability, solubility and good thermal stability makes them ideal for molded articles, slippers, LPG tubes, floor tiles, etc.
