General description of bitumen 85/100

ADTM bitumen penetration grade 85/100 is soft penetration grade bitumen using as paving grade bitumen suitable for road construction and repair also for the production of asphalt pavements with below technical specification. This grade of bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses.

Softening point and penetration

Penetration grade bitumen supplied by ATDM is pure petroleum grade bitumen, manufactured from vacuum bottom by passing hot air. The bitumen  supplied by ATDM is produced from remain of crude oil after cracking and removing hydrocarbon. It has penetration between 85~100 desi-millimeter and softening point between 41~ 49C. The penetration grade of the bitumen has a thermoplastic property which is like as synthetic resin material which gets softer with heating and hardens when cooled. This grade of the bitumen  has very strong viscosity compare to other grades.

Guaranty|warranty of the bitumen

ATDM guaranty the quality of  85/100 with arrangement of international inspector to check quality and quantity of the bitumen during the loading to vessel and controlling the production by QC by batch test report before shipping. ATDM guaranty the quality to meet with ASTM/EN 12591.

Bitumen 85/100 is a medium-soft penetration grade used in asphalt surfacing, tack coats, and maintenance works, offering a balance of flexibility and adhesion.

Bitumen 85/100 is softer than 70/100 but harder than 100/120, making it suitable for climates with moderate temperature ranges and varying traffic loads.

The softening point of Bitumen 85/100 typically ranges around 45 °C to 53 °C, giving it moderate heat resistance while maintaining flexibility.
